MEA Scholarship 2022: MEA Scholarship is an initiative of the Malayalee Engineers Association (MEA) in Houston, Tx, USA. The scholarship is primarily for students from Kerala pursuing their first year of Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, Architecture or Naval Architecture from recognized university or engineering college in India.
MEA Scholarship’s primary agenda is to help needy, yet meritorious students secure a sustainable future. Doing so will directly lead to a society with minimal poverty and reduced unemployment rates. MEA Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
If the following criteria are met, candidates are deemed eligible:
- Candidate must be enrolled in a 4-year or 5-year course in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, Architecture or Naval Architecture from an accredited university or engineering college in India.
- The candidate’s annual family income must be under INR 1,50,000 per year
- Candidates must have secured a rank between 1 to 5000 in the Government of Kerala Engineering Entrance Exam OR Secured a score greater than 110 in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (Only for B.Arch candidates)
- Candidates must have secured at least 85% marks or equivalent in their class 10 and class 12 examination
- If the candidate has already secured another scholarship, they are required to disclose the details.
- Candidates who have secured lateral entries to the aforementioned courses are not eligible.
MEA Scholarship Amount
Candidates who are awarded the scholarship will be presented with a scholarship amount of USD 600 per year for a total of four or five years (depending on the course tenure).
MEA Scholarship Application Procedure

- Download the blank recommendation letter form and get it signed by the head of the institution where the candidate studied their class 10 or 12.
Documents Required for MEA Scholarship
- Scan and upload the following documents in PDF format.
- Marks of Class 10 and Class 12 Examinations – Ensure that it is attested by the HOD or the Principal of the institution where the candidate is currently enrolled.
- Govt. of Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination rank certificate OR National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) scorecard.
- Income certificate from all sources. Accepted only if issued by the Village Officer or the Tahsildar.
- Recommendation Letter Form. Ensure that it is filled and signed by the HOD or principal of the institution where the candidate studied their class X or XII.
- If the candidate’s parents/guardians are laborers/agriculturalists/ daily wage workers, tradesmen, or businesses, a statement explaining the nature and type of work must be submitted. This document is mandatory.
- Awards (if any) for extracurricular activities.
- Ration card if the candidate belongs to BPL
- Candidates are also required to submit an essay elaborating on any financial difficulty or special circumstances that merit special consideration when evaluating the application form
- Details of scholarships received from other agencies or institutions.
